Root Canals

What Is A Root Canal?

Endodontics, or Root Canal Therapy may be necessary when the pulp (made up of nerves, blood vessels and connective tissue) inside the root of a tooth become inflamed or infected. This can happen when a tooth is cracked, from a deep cavity, or from injury to the tooth.   During the Root Canal, the inflamed nerve is removed from the canal, the canal is cleaned, disinfected and shaped so that a filling can be placed in the area previously occupied by the nerve. This procedure can save your tooth and prevent you tooth loss.
