Modern Technology for Comfortable Visits

Our Technology

Seeing More Than the Eye Can

In our West Caldwell office, these tools let Dr. Magid diagnose earlier, plan precisely, and show you what he sees.

Cone Beam CT Scanner

3D view of sinuses, nerves, & bone

Our cone beam CT scanner captures detailed 3D images of your facial structure, so Dr. Magid can see your sinuses, facial nerves, and jawbone density. We use it to plan dental implants, other surgery, and treatments like sleep apnea therapy. It shows details a traditional x-ray cannot, and the scan takes about 30 seconds, so your plan is based on what is actually there, not on a guess.

Digital Dental Impressions

No putty trays

Instead of bulky putty, we take impressions with an iTero digital impression system. A wand with a tiny camera at the tip creates a detailed digital model of your mouth, which we send to our dental laboratory to make mouthguards, sleep apnea devices, restorations, and prosthetics. You can watch the scan build on screen, and it is easier than putty for patients who gag.

Intraoral Camera

See exactly what he sees.

Our intraoral camera is a small wand with a camera on the end that captures still images and live video inside your mouth. It helps Dr. Magid examine areas the naked eye cannot easily see, like deep crevices, and you see the same images on screen, so he can show you any problem and explain what he recommends. Seeing a cracked tooth or a worn filling yourself makes the options much easier to understand and weigh.

Digital Dental x-Rays

Ready the moment they are taken.

Digital x-rays replace film. One of our dental assistants captures the image, and Dr. Magid can view it immediately, much like a digital camera. The images are detailed enough to support more precise diagnoses of the area below the gumline, which makes each checkup more thorough and streamlined.

Air Polishing

A gentler clean

Our air polishing system uses warm water, soft air, and a fine, gentle powder to spray away plaque, biofilm, and surface stains, instead of scraping and harsh abrasives. Most patients find it quiet and comfortable, more like a water treatment than a dental visit. Air polishing is included in every cleaning at no extra charge.

Soft Tissue Laser

Precise care for gum tissue

Our soft tissue laser offers a gentle, precise way to repair gum tissue and handle targeted gum work, often without a scalpel or stitches. It selectively removes damaged tissue while preserving healthy gums, and the concentrated light seals the area as it works, which helps reduce bleeding and discomfort and supports your natural healing. It is one of the tools Dr. Magid uses when gum treatment is part of your plan.

Implant Planning

What technology is used to plan implants?

A cone beam CT scan. Before an implant is placed, Dr. Magid takes a 3D scan of your jaw, which shows bone height and density, the sinuses, and the nerves that a flat X-ray cannot. From that scan, he plans the position, angle, and depth of each implant, and the surgery follows that plan. The implants are BioHorizons, placed and restored by Dr. Magid in this office, and the implant consultation is complimentary. You see the scan and the plan before you decide.
