A well-made denture fits, looks like your own teeth, and lets you eat and talk with ease. Dr. David Magid, DMD, designs each one to your face and bite, and can secure it to implants if it will not stay put.

Dentures
A denture is a removable set of replacement teeth. A full denture replaces every tooth in the upper or lower jaw and is held by suction against the gums, while a partial denture fills gaps and clips onto your remaining teeth. Both use a gum-colored base with acrylic or composite teeth. Dentures restore chewing, speech, and the support your lips and cheeks need.
Dr. Magid designs the denture before it is made. He takes impressions or a digital scan, chooses the teeth to suit your face, and checks the look and bite in a wax try-in. Adjustments, relines, repairs, and any extractions are done here too.
Patient Education
The ones designed to your face, not taken from a standard set. They have teeth in a shade and shape that suit your age and complexion, a base tinted to match your gums, and lip support set so your profile looks like you. The wax test versions help you assess the look in a mirror and ask for changes before anything is final. Implant-held dentures also stay put when you talk or laugh.
Most adults missing many teeth are candidates when the gums are healthy. Dr. Magid tells you whether a partial, full, or implant-held denture fits your mouth and budget, with an itemized quote before you decide.

Options

For several missing teeth with healthy teeth still around them. A partial fills the gaps, clips onto remaining teeth, and comes out at night. A metal-free design or a bridge can avoid a visible clasp.
For a jaw with no teeth worth keeping. A full denture rests on the gums and is held by suction, with adhesive if needed. The upper usually holds well, while the lower tends to move, where implants help.
A denture that clicks onto two to four implants placed here, so it stays put when you eat and talk and still comes out for cleaning. A well-fitting denture can sometimes be adapted after the implants heal.
A full arch of teeth fixed to four implants, with temporary teeth the same day as surgery and the final set after about four months. It suits patients who want to stop thinking about dentures.
Gums change shape over the years, so a reline refits a loose denture, often in a day. Sore spots are adjusted in minutes, and a broken denture is a same-day emergency visit, repaired here or at the lab.
Teeth that cannot be saved are removed here, with nitrous oxide, oral, or IV sedation available, so you are not sent across town. The denture is planned before the first tooth comes out.
Our Process

Step 1
Dr. Magid examines your teeth, gums, and jaw, with X-rays or a 3D scan where needed. He tells you which denture fits your mouth and budget, whether teeth must come out first, and whether implants are worth considering. You leave with an itemized quote.

Step 2
Impressions or a digital scan records your gums and remaining teeth, and you help choose the shade and shape of the teeth. The lab sets them in wax, and you check the look, lip support, and bite in a mirror. Nothing is finished until you are happy.

Step 3
The finished denture is fitted, and the bite checked. Expect a sore spot or two, which will be adjusted here in minutes. Eating and speaking feel strange for about a week, then fade into the background. A reline follows after extractions, once the gums settle.

Step 4
Take it out at night so the gums rest, brush it with a soft brush and denture cleanser, and keep it in water when it is out. Keep your checkups so we can check the fit. A reline every few years keeps it snug, and implants are an option if it slips.

FAQ
What dentures cost in NJ, how to afford them, same-day options, cleaning, how long they last, and what they are made of.
A full denture is one fee per arch, and a partial costs less. The total depends on whether teeth must come out first, the materials, and whether implants hold it. We do not publish prices since costs range from patient to patient. Your itemized quote follows the consultation, and most plans pay a share of dentures.
Start with a consultation, because a plan can be shaped to a budget. Insurance usually pays a share, CareCredit and Cherry spread the rest, and our membership plan discounts treatment for patients without insurance. Treatment can be staged, and a loose denture can often be relined.
Not a conventional denture, which takes a few weeks of lab work and a try-in. When teeth are being removed, a temporary denture covers you while the gums heal. The same-day fixed option is All-on-4, with temporary teeth attached on surgery day. Dr. Magid tells you which path fits.
Rinse them after meals, brush once a day with a soft brush and denture cleanser or mild soap (never toothpaste) and soak them overnight. Brush your gums, tongue, and remaining teeth too. Hot water warps a denture, so use lukewarm water.
A denture often lasts five to 10 years with diligent care, with a reline required every few years because the gums slowly change shape. A looser fit, sore spots, or worn teeth mean it is due for attention. A reline fixes most of these, while a worn or cracked denture needs to be replaced.
A gum-colored acrylic base carrying acrylic or composite teeth. A partial adds a thin metal framework with small clasps, or a metal-free design where a clasp would show. Snap-in implant dentures add small housings that click onto the implants, and teeth are chosen to suit your face.
