Veneers are an excellent way to mask imperfections and leave you with a more perfected smile! However, everyone’s smile is different, so the number of veneers that would suit your teeth can vary. During your consultation with your dentist, you will discuss your unique smile to determine the perfect number to meet your smile goals. Until then, here are some things to take into consideration.
How Many Veneers Do You Need?
The number of veneers that you will need depends on why you want them. If you have a single tooth that has a bad chip, one veneer is probably the right number for you. However, if this tooth is one of your front teeth, it may be recommended that you get two veneers so that they match perfectly.
If you want more of a smile transformation, it is recommended that you get at least eight veneers on each arch. This way, the six visible teeth when you smile will be treated, including a couple extra ones, so there won’t be a difference in appearance when you open your mouth. Some patients get as many as ten veneers on each arch for a more complete smile makeover!
What Other Options Are Out There?
Veneers are an excellent cosmetic solution because they can change multiple aspects of the teeth at the same time. However, they aren’t for everyone. Here are some other cosmetic solutions that can help to enhance smiles.
- Direct Bonding: If you have minor chips, gaps, or other imperfections, direct bonding may be the quick, affordable solution you are looking for. Your dentist takes a small amount of composite resin that has been custom-shaded to match the color of your tooth enamel. This is applied to the area, covering the imperfections. The resin is sculpted to the teeth for a flawless finish.
- Teeth Whitening: If you are bothered by discoloration of the teeth, professional teeth whitening can be used to provide you with dramatic results in a short period of time. In-office and take-home teeth whitening options are available.
- Metal-Free Dental Restorations: If you have an old metal filling or crown that is taking away from the appearance of your smile, you can get it swapped out for a metal-free restoration. No one will be able to tell that you’ve had work done!
Veneers are an excellent way to transform your smile. By scheduling a consultation with your dentist, you can put together a plan that’s right for you!
