Dr. David Magid

As a dentist near Caldwell, Dr. Magid is passionate about changing people’s lives – something he gets to do every day. For more than 20 years, Dr. Magid has presented his patients with high-quality, state-of-the-art dental care. Believing each experience should include optimal comfort and personalization, he and his team at Magid Dental Care spare no expense when it comes to delivering the best.

But before Dr. Magid began treating patients and transforming appearances, he grew up fixing things with his hands. Learning he could combine his hands-on activities with his interest in biology and science, he decided in college that dentistry was the way to go.

After completing his undergraduate degree at Brandeis University, he earned a DMD from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. He then went on to complete a one-year Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency at Columbia University. From there, he practiced at various dental offices throughout Manhattan.

After completing a two-year residency focused on implant dentistry, he earned Fellowship status in the American Academy of Implant Dentistry. This meant that he proved his skill and proficiency in various implant cases before the AAID board.

Apart from his in-depth training and work in implant dentistry, Dr. Magid is also a certified Invisalign provider and member of the Academy of General Dentistry.

When he is not busy caring for patients’ smiles, you’ll often find him spending time with his wife, Maren, and their three children. He enjoys hiking, making pizza, and participating in various BBQ competitions.

Here are the answers to some of the most common questions we are asked about dental care. If you don’t see the information that you’re looking for below, don’t fret! How can I make a same-day appointment with a dentist?

At Magid Dental Care, we are happy to offer same-day appointments for patients experiencing dental emergencies. The easiest way to schedule a same-day dental appointment is to give us a call directly. This way, you can explain to a member of our team what’s going on. They will be able to give you further instructions and get you scheduled as soon as possible. The goal of this visit is to assess the situation, eliminate any pain, and put together a plan to restore the health of your smile.

How much does it cost to get a tooth pulled without insurance?

The cost of a tooth extraction can vary depending on your geography and other factors, like your dental health. The average fee for an extraction in markets across the United States is between $150 and $400. Additional fees could apply depending on the difficulty of the extraction and whether or not other treatments are needed, like dental sedation. If you have dental insurance, the cost of your treatment is likely partially covered by your plan if you have paid your deductible and have not exceeded your annual maximum. If you have any questions regarding dental insurance, we are happy to help.

What do you do if you can't afford a dentist?

Dentistry is all about prevention. It is more affordable to work with a dentist to prevent serious issues before they occur. If you have access to dental insurance, it is a great tool to take advantage of to receive affordable dental care. If this isn’t an option that’s available to you, you might benefit from a dentist who offers an In-House Savings Plan. This kind of plan gives you access to routine cleanings and checkups as well as discounts on services completed at that dental practice. Lastly, you could apply for CareCredit – a third-party financing company that can split the cost of your treatment into manageable monthly installments with little to no interest. To learn more about your financial options, don’t hesitate to talk to one of our friendly team members.

What level of education is required to be a dentist?

All dentists across the United States are required to receive either a Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) or a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from one of the 67 Accredited dental schools in the country. Acceptance into a dental school requires a bachelor’s degree and consists of three years with a combination of classroom and hands-on learning. To keep their license, dentists also must complete a certain number of continuing education hours.
